On September 30th 2014, Student Activities Department at Beirut Arab University held its yearly Homecoming Event ‘BAU IN COLORS for the new academic year 2014 – 2015 in Beirut Campus. This event is one of the biggest events that happens every year where it is attended by more than 5,000 students from all BAU campuses, and this year it was attended by 6,200 students. The event included Social, Artistic and sports activities that introduced new & current students to the different aspects of activities, held by the department. As a result, the Homecoming hosted shows from the different clubs and teams of the university, such as: Music, Drama, Folk Dance, Modern Dance, Scouts, Red Cross youth clubs and Sports Teams.

This year the Homecoming hosted and honored in a live concert the Singer Naji El Osta, and presented by the TV Star Mohammad Kaiss.

Students were able to take photos at the artistic photo lounge, felt the colors by painting on their bodies, they enjoyed the paint balloons art clash,  showed their graffiti skills, and competed with each other. Some joined the dabke workshop, and others sang out some karaoke songs. They had fun and felt the artistic spirit! The Artistic Activities Corner was sponsored by Colortek (Kassaa Holding)

Our adventurous Students joined the Scouts and did some rappel exercises from 2 different heights levels, they felt the adrenalin  when coming down the zip-line, and they joined the Red Cross youth Club for a positive reinforcement. They lived the adventure and enjoyed these activities!

For our sports fans, our students enjoyed the sports activities and showed their athletic skills and tried out the different activities including: fitness super circuit, table tennis, basketball game, football game, air hockey, baby foot, boxing machine, and soccer machine. They showed their Fitness skills!

We tested our students’ knowledge about the university clubs with competition that was hosted by our presenter (TV Star) for this year “Mohammad Kaiss” during the live shows at the homecoming event 2014-15. The competitors were chosen randomly from the audience, and had to answer the questions correctly in order to win. Mohamad Kaiss gave the event a special spirit of joy and excitement. This segment was sponsored by Grand Cinemas, Classic Burger, Munchies and El Rancho.

We asked the students about their capability to evaluate a Basketball game !! A Basketball game took place at the beginning of the homecoming event 2014-15 during the Live shows, the two competing teams were our own BAU Employees Vs. BAU Students, Students were able to vote online for the team they expect to Win. The game ended with the winning of our own BAU Employees and a trophy and medals for the winning team was handed by the Dean of Student Affairs. This segment was sponsored by Warwick palm beach hotel.

We heard some talented voices and the others were thanked for trying!! One member of each activities club had the chance to represent his/her club and win a round trip ticket to Istanbul, sponsored by Diamond International Traveling Agency, by simply stretching their vocal chords. Each contestant sang one song of his choice and were judged by the students’ voting on facebook. This Segment was sponsored by Diamond International Travel Agency, and five starts tours.

  • They did the push-ups, the squats, moved the Barbell, and jumped the rope! We tested our students strength and fitness skills!! Our Students had the chance to participate in a strength competition that included a circuit of push-ups, jumping rope, jumping squat on step, military press, and rowing using rope. The competition took place at the homecoming event 2014-15 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the sports corner and the fastest three competitors challenged each other on stage during the live shows. This Segment was sponsored by Panacea Health Club.

Drama clubDrama Club Sketch

Our talented drama club members presented a funny sketch under the name “Tawsheh” !! This sketch was a sarcastic scene about the drawn standards of arts these days. It was presented to you by: Rayan Alti, Mohamad Darwish, Batoul Ardat and Omar Daouk. Students enjoyed this sketch during the live shows at the homecoming event 2014-15.

8e art8e Art Entertainment

How about some real exciting entertainment?? Our Students enjoyed a very special performance offered by the artistic sound experiment “8e Art” that will included barrels fire, upbeat percussionist parade and live violin shows. Everyone felt the rhythm, got embarked, taken by surprise, encircled, and involved in that show at the homecoming event 2014-15 Live shows.

And the best was kept for last… Our Students got the chance to enjoy a live concert with the beautiful young Lebanese voice that set the stage on fire, the one and only Naji El Osta. This concert was performed at the homecoming event 2014-15 Live shows.
