On October 8th 2015, Student Activities Department at Beirut Arab University is throwing its yearly Homecoming Event ‘BAU IN Challenge for the new academic year 2015 – 2016 in Beirut Campus. This event is one of the biggest events that happens every year where it is attended by more than 5,000 students from all BAU campuses. The event will include Social, Artistic and sports activities that introduce new & current students to the different aspects of activities, held by the department. As a result, the Homecoming hosts shows from the different clubs and teams of the university, such as: Music, Drama, Folk Dance, Modern Dance, Scouts, Red Cross youth clubs and Sports Teams.

This year the Homecoming will be hosting and honoring in a live concert the Pop Star Rami Ayash, and will be presented by the TV Star Mohammad Kaiss.

Activities Exhibition and Corner


Artistic zone 2015Artistic Activities Corner

At the Artistic Activities Corner, students will be able to shake it off in a dance workshop, sing out loud some karaoke songs, get the chance to act in a live drama casting, and keep their funny memories at the artistic photo lounge.

Social Activities Corner

At the Social Activities Corner, students will be able to live the adventure by joining the Scouts in some rappel exercises from two different height levels, and feel the Adrenalin rush while coming down the zip-line, they can also join the Lebanese Red Cross Youth Center BAU Club for motivational speeches with famous celebrities.

Sports Activities Corner

At the Sports Activities Corner, sports fans will be able to show their athletic skills and enjoy a bunch of various activities including: fitness super circuit, table tennis, basketball game, football game, air hockey, baby foot, boxing machine, and soccer machine.

Faculties Challenge starting from 4:30 PM

Faculties Challenge

This year our Ten Faculties will have a core role during this big day which will be hosted for the second year by our presenter (TV Star) “Mohammad Kaiss” during the live shows at the homecoming event 2015-16.

‘Faculties Challenge’, Sports and Artistic competitions, where each faculty has to choose a Dr. as a team leader to represent his faculty and form a team of 10 students according to their skills; each student must participate only in one activity: Football, Basketball, Handball, Volleyball, Fitness and music game except for the drama and the dance challenge that requires two students. The score will constitute of 70% according to the competitions’ results while the remaining 30% will depend on the voting via social media. The winning team will get valuable prizes!

Football Challenge

Every team’s football candidate will take three penalty shots against the varsity goalkeeper. Each goal will be counted as one point.

Basketball Challenge

Every team’s Basketball candidate will take three 3pt-shots. Each score will be counted as one point.

Handball Challenge

Every team’s Handball candidate will throw in the ball. Each score will be counted as one point.

Volleyball Challenge

Every team’s volleyball candidate will have to maintain holding the ball in the air. The candidate will receive points according to the number of times the ball is hit. Candidates will receive points according to where they placed, first place candidate will get 10 points, second place will get 9, third place 8 points and so on.

Fitness Challenge

Every team’s fitness candidate will make an unlimited number of push-ups. The candidate will receive points according to the number of push-ups. First place candidate will get 10 points, second place will get 9, third place 8 points and so on.

Dancing Challenge

The dance couple candidates from each faculty team will join other teams’ couples on stage to compete in a dance marathon. Couples will dance on different music styles such as: folk, oriental, ballroom, and Latin, they will have to change their dancing style as music changes. Couples will be knocked out one by one based on their dancing level, and they will receive points according to where they placed, the last couple still on the floor will get 10 points, second place will get 9, third place 8 points and so on.

Acting Challenge

One candidate from each faculty team will be a part of a group of five to perform a small sketch on stage narrated by the drama club coach Wissam Sabbagh. This will evaluate their acting talent, and the candidates will receive points based on their performance.

The Music Candidate from each faculty team will join other teams’ candidates to sing along popular songs on stage. Music will be stopped and the candidates will have to keep singing until the music is back, those who fail to synchronize with the music will be disqualified and the others will stay in competition. Candidates will receive points based on their level of synchronization, the last candidate standing will get 10 points, second place will get 9, third place 8 points and so on.

Music Club

During the live show, students will be able to enjoy a bunch of popular traditional and modern songs presented in karaoke style by the BAU Music Club members who used to charm the audience every time they perform.

Live Concert with Rami Ayash

The live show will never end without the fascinating voice of the Lebanese Pop Star, the one and only, Rami Ayash who will set the stage on fire with a collection of his amazing songs.
